Rev. Derek Street

Pastor

Rev. Derek Street is honored to serve as the newly appointed Lead Pastor of Point Hope Church. A lifelong servant of Christ and His Church, Derek brings a rich background of faith, family, and ministry to this new role.

Derek holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Western Carolina University and has faithfully served in and led music ministry for more than 23 years. He is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Christian Ministries at Asbury Theological Seminary, deepening his theological training and pastoral formation.

Beyond his calling in ministry, Derek treasures his family life. He and his wife, Nikki, are blessed with four children—Phoenix (and his wife, Mackenzie), Kari (pronounced Kah’-ree), Isaac, and Gavin—and are the proud grandparents of Lake and another grandson soon to arrive.

Megan Stevens

Communications Director & Asst. to the Pastor

Megan was raised in the Methodist church and is passionate about promoting God’s Holy love and Point Hope Church’s mission to the community. Before serving at Point Hope, she spent 11 years working in public relations within the nonprofit sector. She has a journalism degree from Marshall University and loves to spend time with her family.

Shannon Hellwig

Business Manager

Shannon is originally from New Jersey and moved to Mount Pleasant with her husband and three daughters late in 2017. She has a degree in sociology and criminal justice from Montclair State University. Prior to moving, she had worked as a bookkeeper for a nonprofit organization. She is passionate about serving God and her Point Hope community.

VICTORIA STEWART MALONE

Director of Worship

Victoria Stewart Malone serves as the Director of Worship at Point Hope Church, where she combines her love for music and her heart for ministry to lead others into the presence of God. With years of experience as a worship leader, music teacher, and songwriter, she leads with both joy and authenticity in worship. Victoria believes worship is more than music—it’s a way of life marked by surrender and grace—and her desire is that every person would encounter the love and goodness of Jesus. When she’s not at the piano or preparing for Sunday, she enjoys writing devotionals, mentoring women through her ministry Beautiful. Fabulous. Friends!, and spending time with her dog, Lexi.
