Drummer

The Drummer supports the Worship experience at Point Hope through skilled worship on the drums. This is a part-time position which includes coming to rehearsals prepared and fine tuning the worship set every week with the director and other band members.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Be prepared for rehearsals. Be ready to start on time for weekly rehearsals and weekly service from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Sundays.

  2. Know the drum/percussion part well and be familiar with the music before rehearsal.

  3. Have an excellent attitude.

  4. Worship with truth and excellence. Promptly at 8:00 a.m., you must be physically, mentally, and spiritually prepared to ask God to consecrate the Praise Team for His glory.

  5. Play with our finest offering of excellence to the Lord.

  6. Provide help when you need to be away. Notify the Associate Pastor two weeks out if you plan to be away unless sick using the Point Hope time-off request form.

  7. Assist the Associate Pastor to find a substitute and train them as needed. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.

  2. Exercises highest levels of discretion and confidentiality in all church and congregation-related matters. 

  3. High moral character and strong ethical standards.  

DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  1. Supportive of the mission and ministry of the church.

  2. People-oriented.

  3. Ability to read percussion staff/drum charts.

  4. Ability to read chord charts.

  5. Proficient on drums and other percussion instruments.

Sound Board Operator

The sound board operator supports the worship experience at Point Hope through weekly sound set up and skilled mixing of live music on the sound board. This is a part-time position and includes coming to rehearsals prepared and fine tuning the sound of the worship set every week with the director and other band members.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Be prepared for rehearsals. Be ready to start on time for weekly rehearsals and weekly service from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Sundays.

  2. Know the sound board well and be familiar with adjusting live music sound at sound checks in rehearsal and during worship services.

  3. Have an excellent attitude.

  4. Worship with truth and excellence. Promptly at 8:00 a.m., you must be physically, mentally, and spiritually prepared to ask God to consecrate the Praise Team and Choirs for His glory.

  5. Run sound and be present with our finest offering of excellence to the Lord.

  6. Provide help when you need to be away. Notify the Associate Pastor two weeks out if you plan to be away unless sick using the Point Hope time-off request form.

  7. Assist the Associate Pastor to find a substitute and train them as needed. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.

  3. High moral character and strong ethical standards. 


DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  3. Be familiar with the Behringer x32 Digital Mixer (or equivalent)

  4. Experience live mixing and band/choir

  5. Ability to work with several floor monitors and adjust bus sends

  6. Comfortable setting up new equipment on occasion (gains, eq, dynamics, sends, etc.)

Bass Player 

The bass player supports the Worship at Point Hope through skilled worship on the bass. This is a part-time position which includes coming to rehearsals prepared and fine tuning the worship set every week with the director and other band members.

Lead Guitarist

The lead guitarist supports the Worship at Point Hope through skilled worship on the guitar (electric with pedal board or acoustic). This is a part-time position and includes coming to rehearsals prepared and fine tuning the worship set every week with the director and other band members.

  1. Be prepared for rehearsals. Be ready to start on time for weekly rehearsals and weekly service from 8:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. on Sundays.

  2. Know the lead guitar part (electric or acoustic) well and be familiar with the music before rehearsal.

  3. Have an excellent attitude.

  4. Worship with truth and excellence. Promptly at 8:00 a.m., you must be physically, mentally, and spiritually prepared to ask God to consecrate the Praise Team for His glory.

  5. Play with our finest offering of excellence to the Lord.

Keyboard Player (Pianist)

The keyboard player supports the Worship experience at Point Hope through skilled worship on the keyboard. This is a part-time position which includes coming to rehearsals prepared and fine tuning the worship set every week with the director and other band members.

  5. Play with our finest offering of excellence to the Lord.

  7. Assist the Associate Pastor to find a substitute and train them as needed.

Kid’s Ministry Director - Nursery through 5th Grade 

The Kid’s Ministry Director supports the overall mission of the church by providing a place for kids to worship, connect, and serve in order to become faith disciples of Jesus. The primary responsibilities for the Kid’s Ministry Director are to lead and grow the Kid’s Ministry by creating an environment on Sundays and Wednesdays where kids grow in their relationship with Christ and one another. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Create a weekly worship experience and a weekly small group experience that engages kids. 

  2. Choose or create an age appropriate curriculum that is educational and fun. 

  3. Recruit and equip volunteers to lead in large and in small groups. 

  4. Lead volunteer teams to minister through excellent planning, communication, training and vision casting.

  5. Fill absentee volunteer positions through recruitment, background checks, assigning roles, training, etc.

  6. Support and equip volunteers by providing encouragement, resources, curriculum, feedback, and demonstrations of appreciation.

  7. Continually assess needs and flow of all points of the Kid’s Ministry, to create a program that is relevant, growing and serving kids and families well.

  8. Oversee kids rooms being left orderly and “set” for the next group of kids. 

  9. Reach out to new families via text, email, and phone calls to determine their interest in Kid’s Ministry.

  10. Deliver the Kid’s Message for weekly services once a month (or more often if needed) and coordinate volunteers to deliver the message (be ready to step in if volunteers cancel).

  11. Continuously reach out into the community and into the church community to serve and to strengthen the kids program. 

  12. Check and promptly respond to emails and voicemails at mutually agreed upon times.

  13. Communicate effectively (text, phone calls, emails) with parents what kids are learning and when and where special events will be happening. 

  14. Maintain current records and a database for volunteers.

  15. Work with the Pastor to ensure Ministry Safe training for all volunteers working with children.

  16. Work with the Communications director/Church administrator to make sure all volunteers have a signed safe sanctuary document on file at the church.

  17. Purchase and prepare supplies for ministry events associated with the Kid's Ministry program.

  18. Create and maintain a file for events with event information, a timeline, notes suggesting enhancements and things that went well so that future programs can be more effectively delivered.

  19. Create a Kid’s Ministries Manual with policies and procedures; update as needed.

  20. Purchase any ministry and office supplies as needed.

  21. Oversee Kid’s Ministry budget and be fiscally responsible.

  22. Coordinate with Nursery Lead to manage nursery volunteers and supplies as needed.

  23. Plan and lead a kids event in the summer. (i.e.- VBS or Summer Camp)

  24. Plan and organize an outreach event twice a year (i.e.- Christmas and Easter)

  25. Hold practices for the Christmas Program as needed.

  26. Hold safe sanctuary classes as needed.

  27. Build relationships with parents/families weekly through one on one discussions over the phone or in person. 

  28. Other responsibilities as deemed necessary by the supervisor.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent

  2. Involvement in a church kid’s ministry

  3. Exercises highest levels of discretion and confidentiality in all church and congregation-related matters


DESIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  1. Experience growing a Kid’s Ministry preferred

  2. Degree in Education preferred

  3. Desire to start a preschool, after school or summer program preferred

  4. Ability to communicate his/her strong Christ centered Biblical faith

  5. Spiritual maturity and a desire to see kids know Christ

  6. Strong organizational and leadership skills

  7. Servant-heart and self-motivated

  8. Excellent teacher and an ability to train and work with volunteers

  9. Ability to work well with others, delegate, and make connections with kids and parents


ADDITIONAL EMPLOYEE-RELATED BENEFITS:

This position reports to the Lead Pastor. This role requires working 15-20 hours a week suggested as the following: 3 hours on Tuesday and Thursday, 8 hours on Wednesday, and 3-4 hours on Sunday morning. Position should grow as Kid’s Ministry grows and weekly compensation can increase proportionally as ministry grows and demands increase. Compensation to commensurate with experience $17-$22 per hour. 

1 week paid vacation after 6 months of employment, 2 weeks after first year, 3 weeks after 3 years. Vacation may not be taken on Palm Sunday, Easter Sunday, Christmas Eve or the week leading up prior to these services. All leave must be approved by the pastor. Church office is closed on Standard Holidays.

On-going professional development is suggested, but not required. Annual Performance Review held at six months and yearly thereafter. Interview based on positive background check.
